How does the sync work?

In Sellf, at the core of our Calendar feature is the Shared Team Calendar.
This calendar is the default calendar selected when you start using Sellf and the primary calendar where all your events are stored if you don't sync an external calendar.

Of course, your can keep track of your private meetings by integrating external calendars: you can sync calendar events from Sellf to your personal calendars and vice versa so your schedule is managed in one place
It’s a two sync, this means the changes you make to your events in Sellf will also visible in your external calendars and vice versa.
Obviously only you will be able to see your personal events, added from external calendars.

How to sync my external calendars with Sellf?

Apart from Google Calendar, which can be integrated both on Sellf Web and Sellf mobile apps, you
can set up and integrate other calendars (Outlook, Exchange, Office 365, iCloud) on your Sellf mobile apps.
On your mobile devices, (smartphones and tablets) Sellf Calendar will automatically show any events from calendars/accounts that you're signed in to with your Apple/Android device
All you need to do is adding your Google/Exchange/Outlook Account into your iOS/Android device, going under Settings. Linking an email account will automatically sync also you calendars.

9. Select or de-select the individual calendars you want to appear when you're accessing the iOS calendar app. These calendars will be visibile in your Sellf mobile app.
You can adjust the list and change the default color associated with each calendar within the app by clicking the circled red on the right side of the calendar name; in the new window, select a different color and even rename the calendar, then tap Done at the top of the screen.

Tips

  • Only sync the calendars you know you'll need on your phone. Although calendar items generally don't hog space (unless you've got a ton of attachments in your appointments), the more devices that sync to a calendar, the more likely it is that you'll run across some sort of syncing collision. Limiting your iPhone to just the necessities reduces the risk that other calendars will incur a sync error because of the phone's setting.
  • If you're using multiple iOS devices (for example iPhone and iPad), for calendar events syncing to work properly, you must make sure you have the same calendars on both devices, because Sellf synchronizes events reading them from iCal CalendarsTo do so, make sure you’re signed in to iCloud with the same Apple ID (and to other accounts with the same email address) on all of your devices.

Of course, you can decide to change this calendar and choose an external one. You can change your default calendar at any time.

Important: Remember that if you leave the selection as Shared Team Calendar, the events created will be shared with your team. These events won't be synced with external calendars and cannot be copied or synced in the future once they have been created in this calendar.

  • any update made in either Sellf or the external calendar will be synced over to the other service.

Important: On Sellf Web external calendars synchronized from the Sellf app on Android devices won't be visibile.
On Sellf web you will be able to see calendars synchronized from the Sellf app on iOS devices and they will be labelled as Apple Calendar (iCal). The visible events from external calendars will be read-only, they will show up in red in your schedule, while the single event will show up in grey when you open the detail page, since it is locked and can't be edited or deleted.
The Shared Team Calendar and Calendars integrated with Google on Sellf Web are the only editable calendars.

Google Calendar is the only external calendar that can be integrated with Sellf on the Web, directly in Settings.
